fighting absurdity with absurdity

I keep hearing an ad for a program on XM radio called "The Agenda". A phrase in the ad says, "get the LGBT (that's lesbian-gay-bisexual-transgender, for anyone not up on the lingo) take on everything." Going beyond the question of why anyone should give a shit about the LGBT take on anything, why should who, what, or how you screw entitle you to a specific perspective on anything? Are we going to get talk shows where we hear from poodle owners next? Maybe we already have that and I've just missed it. When did sexuality become a worldview? My general preference for a vagina doesn't in any way inform my view of immigration, war, or financial policy. It doesn't even influence who I might want to see win American Idol. The Marxists who influenced the gay rights movement in the 1960s did a masterful job of conflating behavior with identity and creating a political legitimacy where none should exist. It's as absurd as me creating a lobbying organization for men who prefer Asian women--Asianosexuals--and petitioning Congress to allow more Chinese women to immigrate. Nobody is calling me and asking, "So, as an openly Asianosexual man, what do you think about the war in Iraq?" I feel so ignored.
